We recently had the opportunity to review several flavors of Mrs. Renfro's salsas.
About the salsas we reviewed:
-Garlic Salsa
-Ghost Pepper Salsa
-Black Bean Salsa
This thick salsa goes great on baked potatoes – also makes a great base for homemade southwestern pizza.
-Garlic SalsaMade with fresh garlic and fire-roasted garlic puree – a garlic-lovers’s delight.
-Mexican Hot Sauce
Similar to our classic salsa with a south-of-the-border kick - add to just about anything!
-Ghost Pepper SalsaThe ghost pepper takes on many forms - pepper spray, hand grenades, smoke bombs… and now salsa! What we thought: We love, Love, LOVE Mrs. Renfro's Salsas!! The black bean was very mild, but flavorful and especially kid-friendly. The kiddos devoured it:) The Mexican hot sauce was a pretty tasty salsa with a super smooth texture. The garlic salsa was delicious as a dip and on our favorite dishes. However, the big deal here was the Ghost Pepper salsa. It was definitely spicy, a little too much for me straight, but B absolutely LOVED it!! He is a connoisseur of spicy sauces and his complaint is that you usually have to sacrifice flavor for spiciness. This is definitely not the case with Mrs. Renfro's Ghost Pepper Salsa...it had a wonderful flavor AND the spiciness B loves:) It is hands down his new favorite salsa and I'm sure he will be a Mrs. Renfro's customer for life:) If you are looking for quality salsas for your holiday menu, we definitely recommend Mrs. Renfro's, whether you like it mild or super spicy...there is something for every salsa lover:) ABCD Diaries gives Mrs. Renfro's salsas an A+!!

I am really curious about the ghost pepper salsa. I love hot foods. Have you tried to put some of their salsa in chili? It is really good.

Simply LOVE the Garlic - nice big chunks of garlic surrounded by the love and care of the tomatoes and other tasty ingredients that make up a jarful of fun and delight over our taste-buds :). Love putting it on our scrambled eggs on a Saturday morning, or on a veggie burger - we replace ketchup with Mrs. Renfro's salsa every opportunity we get. The only salsa good enough for the east coast and the rest of the world!
ReplyDeleteWe are on a adventure to try the ghost pepper salsa - would love to give it a go in my wife's cooking. She makes some fantastic dinners with exotic spices and I would love to let her replace those spices with Mrs. Renfro's ghost pepper salsa. Yummyyyyyyyy :)
