Mighty Sesame Tahini Goodies for Summer Snacking!

*DISCLOSURE* Thank you to Mighty Sesame for providing product samples in order to facilitate this post.  All thoughts are strictly my own.

These days, folks are pretty excited about tahini, the smooth sesame paste that’s so essential to traditional Middle Eastern hummus. Mighty Sesame has made it easy for everyone to jump on board the tahini train with their squeezable paste and super seed bars.

The healthy-minded people at Mighty Sesame Co. know a thing or two about tahini. In a recent taste test of 18 tahini brands on the market, no less an authority than Epicurious anointed Mighty Sesame Tahini The Best Tahini You Can Buy. They praised the clean, delicious taste and smooth texture that make it “a great tahini to use for anything and everything,” and applauded the no-stir convenience of the squeeze bottle.

We love the ease of use of the squeeze bottle and it really is some super smooth tahini!

Mighty Sesame has also made a splash for snackers with three varieties of all-natural tahini bars – Pistachio, Cocoa Nibs, and Vanilla – each at only 100 calories per bar. Like their squeezable cousins, these addictive grab-and-go treats promise a premium-quality product that is gluten- and dairy-free, vegan, kosher, halal, non-GMO and 100% guilt-free.

These little snack bars are perfect on-the-go fuel!

Mighty Sesame brand products are distributed by Kayco, the top purveyor of kosher foods in America. They are available at Whole Foods, Publix, Walmart, supermarkets and independent and kosher food stores across the U.S. and on AMAZON.

Awesome Books from Candlewick Press to Help Kiddos Explore the Great Outdoors this Summer!

*DISCLOSURE* Thank you to Candlewick Press for providing product samples in order to facilitate this post.  All thoughts are strictly my own.

Take a look at some of our favorite picture books from Candlewick Press that help kiddos explore the outdoors without having to leave home:

The Camping Trip
By Jennifer K. Mann

Ages 3-7
Ernestine is beyond excited to go camping. She follows the packing list carefully (new sleeping bag! new flashlight! special trail mix made with Dad!) so she knows she is ready when the weekend arrives. But she quickly realizes that nothing could have prepared her for how hard it is to set up a tent, never mind fall asleep in it, or that swimming in a lake means that there will be fish — eep! Will Ernestine be able to enjoy the wilderness, or will it prove to be a bit too far out of her comfort zone? In an energetic illustrated story about a first sleepover under the stars, acclaimed author-illustrator Jennifer K. Mann reminds us that opening your mind to new experiences, no matter how challenging, can lead to great memories (and a newfound taste for s’mores).

Karate Kids
By Holly Sterling

Ages 3-7
Join Maya and all her friends as they get together at the dojo for their Saturday karate class! There are moves to remember, blocks to practice, and punches to perfect. Maya is a white belt, which means she’s still a beginner, but with focus, balance, and determination — and a little help from her friends — can she show Sensei what she’s got? Written and illustrated by Holly Sterling, a karate champion and teacher, this is a joyful and uplifting celebration of the sport and a must-have primer for any child hoping to be a karate kid one day.

Sandcastle
By Einat Tsarfati

Ages 4-6
A young girl loves building sandcastles. But not just any sandcastles. She builds one so big and grand and lovely that all the royals of the world come to visit. There are banquets and balls and tournaments, a greenhouse for cacti, a staircase for skateboarding, and ice cream around the clock. Everyone seems to be having fun, until they discover sand in the royal almond strudel . . . and the fig milk bath . . . and everywhere! With a keen eye for the absurd, author-illustrator Einat Tsarfati invites readers beyond the crocodile moat to explore the intricately detailed, increasingly wild festivities that echo the arc of a day at the beach, from euphoria to gritty discomfort. The diverse cast of regal guests, from a Rapunzel-esque princess in pj’s and unicorn slippers to a pair of knights playing badminton, is just as inspired. A visual treat of a tale, Sandcastle opens the doors to a world by the sea where wit and imagination reign.

Khalil and Mr. Hagerty and the Backyard Treasures
By Tricia Springstubb and illustrated by Elaheh Taherian

Ages 5-8
Khalil lives in the upstairs apartment with his family, which is big and busy and noisy. Downstairs lives Mr. Hagerty, who is quiet. Khalil and Mr. Hagerty don’t appear to have a lot in common, but hot summer days have a way of bringing people together. As Khalil looks for buried treasure in the yard, Mr. Hagerty tends to his garden. Both help each other navigate language — whether it be learning new words or remembering those seemingly forgotten. Before long, an unlikely friendship is born, full of treasure, thoughtfulness, and chocolate cake. Through well-cultivated details and vibrant cut-paper collage, author Tricia Springstubb and illustrator Elaheh Taherian nurture a heart-tugging tribute to the love of good neighbors and to the strength of intergenerational and intercultural bonds.

Alphonse, There’d Mud on the Ceiling!
By Daisy Hirst

Ages 2-5
Most of the time, Natalie and Alphonse like living in an apartment on the seventh floor. They have bunk beds to drive, a big green chair to hide behind and yell “Raaaar!,” sunflowers on the balcony to water, and almost enough hallway space for tumbling. But when they pretend to be wiggly worms crawling across the jungle . . . SHFLWUMP! Ow! That is not a good game for indoors! How can they explore the joys of nature in the middle of the city? In a playful ode to cooperation and imagination, award-winning picture-book creator Daisy Hirst presents a third adventure starring two relatable — and resourceful — siblings.

These books are so fun, educational and inspirational for young readers to help keep them exploring the great outdoors while they may be stuck inside this summer!  Get your kiddos reading this summer with these beautifully written and illustrated picture books from Candlewick Press!

Loved + Blessed: A Christian Faith-Based Subscription Box June 2020

*DISCLOSURE* Thank you to Loved+Blessed for providing product samples in order to facilitate this post.  All thoughts are strictly my own.

We recently had the chance to review the June box from Loved + Blessed:

Loved+Blessed is a monthly membership and subscription care package for women who want to live life encouraged.

Each month subscribers receive:
-a box of encouragement
-a blog article
-a 4 week life application workbook
-4 video lessons
-online fellowship in our private community
-access to our membership library of past videos and workbooks

Let's take a look at this month's box:

Each box revolves around a central theme and comes with a mini poster, a sticker, a purse-sized scripture card and a gift.

The theme for the June box was Trust Him:

The scripture card this month featured 2 Timothy 1:12  "For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day."

The special gifts for June were awesome!  A book  of devotions and prayers and a bottle of mustard seeds.  The seeds are a great reminder to have faith like a mustard seed and can be shared with friends who need a little reminder.

I definitely think there is room for Loved + Blessed in the subscription box market and I love that their mission is to deliver encouraging products that support a fantastic message!

If that wasn't enough, Loved + Blessed gives a portion of the proceeds of each box sold to Union Rescue Mission, a charity that offers hope and healing to the homeless.  What an amazing cause!

They offer two subscription options.
-Month-to-Month for $25
-3 Month Prepaid $60 (this is a $15 savings)

Get your Loved+Blessed box and membership or gift someone else with this monthly dose of encouragement today!
