*DISCLOSURE* Thank you to Sepoli for providing product samples in order to facilitate this post.  All thoughts are strictly my own.

If you are looking for healthy food swaps this Fall, Datehini would be a lovely alternative to sugar-laden jams and spreads.

Recently named a Good Housekeeping 2022 Healthy Snack Award winner, Datehini is nut free, gluten free, dairy free and soy free.  It’s also packed with vitamins and antioxidants, making it a nutritionally powerful pantry staple. Datehini is an ideal replacement for nut butters and sugary spreads for kids’ breakfast items, lunches and after-school snacks. Datehini comes in three flavors: Cinnamon, Vanilla and Original.

Dates and tahini are two untapped nutritional A-listers that when combined in Datehini, create a delicious versatile superfood packed with vitamins and antioxidants. Dates are well known for improving the digestive system. However, more recently, they’ve also been linked to many heart-health benefits. Eating dates removes fat without creating blood sugar spikes and has been found to reduce cholesterol buildup. Additionally, this delightfully sweet fruit is rich in protein, fiber, potassium, magnesium, copper, manganese, iron and vitamin B6, as well as inflammation and other disease-fighting antioxidants, including flavonoids, carotenoids and phenolic acid.

Tahini is a widely used ingredient in Mediterranean cuisine. One tablespoon of this savory ingredient boasts more than 10% of the Daily Value (DV) for some nutrients, such as thiamine, vitamin B6, phosphorus and manganese, as well as provides a good source of protein, healthy fats and fiber.Tahini is also rich in antioxidants containing anti-inflammatory compounds and may help protect liver and kidney function.

The tasty nutritional benefits of Datehini are easy to add to any diet. Datehini is ideal as a spread on breakfast items and breads, as a topping on sandwiches, a condiment on charcuterie boards, a drizzle for meats and vegetables, a natural sweetener for sauces, marinades, dressings, and smoothies, and as an ingredient in baked goods, such as cookies and brownies.

We have been enjoying Datehini as an easy spread for toast and we love it!  It is perfectly sweet, without the use of tons of added sugar or artificial sweeteners.  Datehini is a wonderful addition to our back-to-school routine!
