MARY's secret ingredients Bring Fun Back Into Your Kitchen!

MARY’s secret ingredients was created to help foodies learn more about new products to inspire their home cooking.  MARY's secret ingredients is a limited edition culinary surprise subscription box containing unique, gourmet products you've probably never heard of, along with a small kitchen tool, delivered right to your door.


 Every season, a limited number of curated boxes are filled with lovely surprises to inspire your cooking. Mary creates custom recipes using each product and emails them to you.  We were lucky enough to get to review the Fall box.


To add to the surprise, "secret" experience, contents of the boxes are not revealed online until after the boxes should have been received.  Here is a look at what we received in our secret ingredient box:


The Little Book of Ingredients that describes the products and a beautiful oil pastel ode to the end of summer piece of art.


Medium grain Mediterranean Sea Salt blended with a classic mix of dried Italian herbs, tomato flecks, lemon peel, and rosemary oil.

Jenkins Jellies produces an exquisite line of pepper jellies with a REAL KICK!


Ultragrain is the unique whole wheat flour that offers whole grain nutrition with the taste, texture and appearance of white flour.

The POURfect World’s Most Accurate Measuring Spoons feature calibrated measurements and bold text in English, Metric and Braille.


Throughout the season, MARY's sends out recipes using the products in your box.  Here is an example of a recipe that was created for the Fall box:

Guava Brava Roasted Salmon
 - serves 3 - 4 - 
To create this fantastic salmon you'll need:

♦ 1 Tbs. grapeseed oil
♦ 1.5 lbs. center cut salmon
♦ French Grey or Kosher salt
♦ Fresh ground pepper
♦ 1 Tbs. Dijon mustard
♦ 1.5 Tbs. Jenkins Jellies Guava Brava Pepper Jelly 

1 - Preheat oven to 425 degrees. 
2 - Salt and pepper the salmon. Spread with mustard and Jenkins Jellies Guava Brava.
3 - Heat oil in skillet until nearly smoking. Sear salmon in skillet skin side down for 3 minutes.
4 - Place skillet in oven for fish to roast for 8 - 10 minutes.
5 - Serve with LOVE and enjoy!!

I love that the recipes that Mary creates include non-traditional uses of the products like using the jelly as a coating, not just spreading it on toast.  For past boxes she has used cereal to make a pie crust, used cheese straws to make cornbread, you get the picture.  Her recipes are super creative and really let the secret ingredients shine!

The Fall box was valued at $38.24 and a subscription to MARY's starts at $25.95, making this subscription box a good value.  A subscription would be a great gift for the foodie in your life or a fun treat for yourself if you ARE the foodie in your life:)
