Book Description
In the pre-Katrina glow of New Orleans, Amanda Salassi is anxious about chaperoning her daughter’s sixth grade field trip to the Big Easy during Halloween. And then her worst fears come true. Her daughter’s best friend, Sarah, disappears amid the magic and revelry—gone, without a trace.

What I thought:
Holy moly!  Talk about an emotional roller coaster!  I don't often get emotionally involved enough to cry while reading fiction, but this book was a tearjerker.  With a story line involving kidnapping, human trafficking, depression, domestic violence, natural disaster and suicide, The Feathered Bone makes for an intense read.  I thought it was beautifully written given the complexity and depth of the subject matter.  If you like Christian mystery/suspense, grab a box of tissues and settle in with The Feathered Bone!
