*DISCLOSURE* Thank you to Blue Dot Kids Press for providing product samples in order to facilitate this post.  All thoughts are strictly my own.

Today's gift idea is for your youngest Valentines!  We think books always make great gifts, especially books that encourage creativity and teach self-confidence.  Here are two of our favorite picture books from Blue Dot Kids Press that are sure to put a smile on your young reader's face:

Jacob's Fantastic Flight
by Philip Waechter

Jacob has a special gift: he can fly! When his parents plan a trip to the sea, Jacob says he will fly there himself. Along the way, he meets new friends and has wonderful adventures. And when his bird friends need help, Jacob and the flock work together to rescue their friend and outsmart the nefarious birdcatcher.

This book has gorgeous illustrations and teaches lessons in independence, kindness, and embracing the unknown.

Ivy Bird
by Tania McCartney and Jess Racklyeft

A joyfully written celebration of birds and imaginative play from an award-winning author-and-illustrator team.

Introducing an array of beautiful birds to young readers, Ivy Bird is a celebration of the natural world. Perfect for reading aloud, children will love the search-and-find element of the book, its bright illustrations, and the exuberant story.

A non-fiction element, two pages bursting with colorful bird illustrations, encourages readers to seek out birds in their own backyards.

We really enjoyed reading both of these books and we think your family will too!  Check out Blue Dot Kids Press for these titles and other really lovely books that teach beautiful lessons to their readers, young and old!  Your young Valentines are sure to love reading them with you!
