"Alternative ABCs" Book Review...

Thanks to AMMO books, we recently had the chance to review an awesome board book, "Alternative ABCs."About ALTERNATIVE ABCs by Eric Ruffing and Dave Parmley:
13THFLOOR
"This alternative ABC board book features original, colorful, and graphic illustrations and typography by Southern California based designers Eric Ruffing and Dave Parmley of 13THFLOOR. In this humorous and hipster take on a traditional ABC board book for kids, the alphabet here reads: F is for Flames, M is for Mohawk, P is for Peace, and S is for Skull. This is the board book that Soccer Moms run from and Rocker Moms gravitate to. Aesthetically borrowing from street, surf, skate, and music subcultures, the custom design and typography beautifully spell out this unique alphabet. From Calligraffiti to Pin-Striping, and from Goth to Punk, this little book crosses genres and is sure to create a buzz."

What we thought: This book was awesome! Seriously, after being a preschool teacher for several years and then having my own kiddos, I have read A LOT of ABC books, and that is an understatement! "Alternative ABCs" was like a breath of fresh air:) It really brought a smile to all of our faces...even B(Daddy) was impressed. The alphabet is laid out in an unconventional fashion with amazingly descriptive artwork and up-to-date lingo. D's favorite page was "M is for Mohawk"...2 year old D just got his first mohawk thanks to his aunt who was on winter break and my lovely husband...D thinks the picture of a skull without a mohawk is just too hilarious:) A loved "P is for Peace" and now she goes around telling anyone who will listen "Peace!" and throwing up the sign:) I read the book to them the first time and from then on the kiddos were both able to read it to me because of the memorable picture clues and contemporary wording. If you are tired of your boring old "A is for Apple, B is for Bear" ABC books, you will love Alternative ABCs! ABCD Diaries gives Alternative ABCs an A+!!

  3. Possessing your sun sign printed on pillows may also be a exciting, individual
touch. Several folks enjoy to introduce themed rooms to their home, along with the very same is true of hotels that may charge
further for rooms decorated and furnished to a specific theme.
I will share some ideas on avoiding several of the frequent errors.
