Candlewick Press Pick: I Want My Hat Back by Jon Klassen

*DISCLOSURE* Thank you to Candlewick Press for providing product samples in order to facilitate this post.  All thoughts are strictly my own.

Candlewick Press is a leading publishing house in children's books and today we are excited to share a really cute book with y'all from their collection...I Want My Hat Back:

Author/Illustrator: Jon Klassen

The bear’s hat is gone, and he wants it back. Patiently and politely, he asks the animals he comes across, one by one, whether they have seen it. Each animal says no, some more elaborately than others. But just as the bear begins to despond, a deer comes by and asks a simple question that sparks the bear’s memory and renews his search with a vengeance. Told completely in dialogue, this delicious take on the classic repetitive tale plays out in sly illustrations laced with visual humor — and winks at the reader with a wry irreverence that will have kids of all ages thrilled to be in on the joke.

It's no wonder this book received the New York Times Best Illustrated Children's Book of 2011 award.  Young children will love the characters and the simple storytelling of this board book.

It is a delightful read with a mischievous twist that children are sure to love.  This is sure to become a quick favorite!

You can find I want My Hat Back and hundreds of other exceptional children's books for all ages at Candlewick Press.
